Our new Wednesday elective classes started yesterday. Mine is called Technology & Social Studies. My partner, Richard, is not back yet so I had trouble calming down 18 sixth graders who got all excited when they found out all they had to do was play computer games related to Social Studies.
I introduced them to my new toy, a game called Catchphrase. They were also fascinated with dmarie.com/timecap, an interactive website that tells you the headlines, prices of goods, top songs/movies/toys, etc. the day you were born. We also played Geosense, but I had to ask the network administrator to unblock the site first. I know why it is blocked, this interactive geography game has a Chat feature, and some players use colorful languages.
